One of the worlds largest petrochemical refinery’s is being constructed on Iran’s southern coast at Assalouyeh.
Material quarried from the nearby mountains is being laid along a 20km stretch of coast to form a 1km platform out into the gulf waters.
The platform depth varies from 3m at the original shoreline to 14m at the newly constructed waterfront. Dynamic Compaction (DC) is being used to compact the deep layers and RIC for the top 4-6m.
There are a number of RIC9000 units, mounted on Koblelco SK480 excavators, being used along the coast in conjunction with the conventional Dynamic Compaction Technique.
