Graham Read Retires from BSP-TEX

Great Blakenham, UK – BSP-TEX, a world leader in piling equipment and ground improvement since 1906, announces the retirement of Service Manager Graham Read, a cornerstone of the company for over three decades.

Graham’s unparalleled dedication to hydraulic piling hammers, piling rigs, and Rapid Impact Compactors (RIC) has left an indelible mark on the team and customers worldwide.

Graham’s journey began in 1973 as an apprentice with BSP International Foundations Limited. Over the years, he honed his expertise as a Fitter on piling and drilling plant, with stints at Wilding & Smiths, Balfour Beatty Power Construction, Anglia Plant, and Tex Steel Tubes. Rejoining BSP in 1995 as a Service Engineer, Graham spent 30 years ensuring the reliability of BSP-TEX’s high-performance equipment, including their comprehensive range of hydraulic piling hammers, designed for driving sheet piles, tubes, and concrete piles, and the JX Piling Rig, a uniquely compact, radio-controlled unit capable of handling piles up to 8m. His work on RIC equipment, used to enhance soil bearing capacity through controlled impact, supported critical ground improvement projects globally.

BSP-TEX, founded as the British Steel Piling Company in 1906 in Millwall, London, has evolved into a global force, exporting over 80% of its products to 30 countries. Acquired by Tex Holdings plc in 1989 and now part of the TEX GROUP, the company credits employees like Graham for its reputation for engineering excellence.

Graham’s expertise and commitment were invaluable. From railway projects to marine environments, his service ensured our equipment performed flawlessly.

Customers and colleagues alike will miss his skill and camaraderie. As Graham steps into retirement, BSP-TEX extends heartfelt thanks for his global contributions and wishes him well in his next chapter.
