With the gates now closed on Hillhead 2026, the team at BSP-TEX has returned from the Derbyshire quarry reflecting on a highly productive and successful exhibition.
As the UK's largest outdoor working show for the quarrying, construction, and recycling industries, the Hillhead event provided an ideal face-to-face platform for our Road Machinery division to connect directly with the surfacing contractors, plant hire companies, and local authority fleet managers who rely on our equipment daily.
Exhibiting at Stand A26, our team welcomed a steady stream of industry professionals from across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The unique live-action environment at the Hillhead quarry allowed for constructive, highly practical discussions regarding the immediate operational challenges currently facing the UK highways sector. Conversations focused heavily on increasing job-site productivity, managing rising raw material costs, and achieving strict compliance with modern UK road construction standards.
A major focus of the BSP-TEX stand this year was our widely recognised M95 Mk.2 Pre-Coated Chip Spreader. Manufactured entirely at our dedicated UK production facility, this flagship machine remains a trusted choice for major surface dressing projects nationwide. Designed to deliver absolute precision in aggregate distribution, the M95 Mk.2 attracted considerable interest from both independent road surfacing contractors and highways maintenance partners. Visitors to the stand noted that its robust British build quality, reliable hydrostatic drive system, and highly accurate output are critical for achieving high-grip road surfaces and reducing aggregate wastage.
Beyond our chip spreader technology, the event allowed us to highlight the full breadth of our road plant and equipment. Our team held numerous technical briefings covering our versatile asphalt mixers, bitumen emulsion sprayers, and thermoplastic road marking equipment.
As an established British original equipment manufacturer, BSP-TEX takes great pride in engineering long-term reliability into every machine. This focus on durability was a major theme throughout the week. Many visitors to our stand were existing customers who continue to operate legacy TEX and BSP equipment, providing first-hand testament to the exceptional build quality and minimal maintenance downtime associated with our brand. For new prospective buyers, this proven track record across UK highway networks offered immense commercial reassurance.
The exhibition also served as an excellent opportunity to discuss our responsive aftermarket support, engineering services, and genuine spare parts availability. Because our design and manufacturing operations are based fully in the UK, we can provide rapid technical assistance and bespoke engineering modifications to suit the unique operational requirements of domestic fleet managers. Whether modifying machinery, providing custom trailers, or integrating advanced digital control systems, our engineering team works collaboratively with clients to deliver the exact specifications required for British road works.
We are currently scheduling post-show consultations, site visits, and practical machinery demonstrations across the country. If you were unable to visit Stand A26 during the event, or if you would like to follow up on a technical inquiry initiated at the exhibition, our specialist road machinery team is on hand to assist with product specifications, pricing, and manufacturing timelines.
